FAQ

  • 15 miles around Highland Park, IL (60035) is included in my package fee — that’s generally as far as my bladder will last. The door isn’t closed if you’re located farther, but there will be a discretionary fee added to your package based on the location.

My sweet spot includes: Highland Park, Glencoe, Wilmette, Winnetka, Glenview, Northbrook, Deerfield, and Lake Forest.

  • OUTDOOR: Sunrise and sunset.

Ugh, I know this is the most challenging timeframe possible for families with little ones. But, if you can swing it, I promise it makes a big difference.

While we can meet outside of these windows, and I’m willing to be flexible, I need to be upfront that harsh sun is a beast. For one, your photos would likely have sunspots and the colors would look slightly different. Also, we’d be more limited in terms of location and the photos would be a lot more posed since I’d need to keep the sun behind you.

INDOOR: Whenever there is light coming into your home. I turn off ambient lights and use all natural light through windows.

  • Ehhh I wouldn’t recommend it, but you do you!

I will provide a Style Guide once the session is booked if requested and am happy to help advise. Most families prefer to coordinate their outfits and I do think it makes a difference. But, I also know that this can be stressful so please know that your connections ultimately matter the most — more than what you wear.

And in case you’re curious, my attire generally doesn’t change. If you see me in anything other than leggings or athletic shorts, something is wrong. And if my hair is down, something is very, very wrong.

  • Smile? Listen? Behave? Put down their snacks? I’ve seen it all.

Firstly, it’s important to note that I capture all the feels. If your kid is having a tantrum and you don’t want photos of that, we may not be a good match.

I get that you might not want Pirate Booty or tears in all your photos, but as long as we capture the “must have” moments before or after shit hits the fan, then I say embrace it. Take the pressure off yourself, friends. We’re striving for authenticity, not perfection.

That said, there’s never been a kid I wasn't able to win over, so not to worry!

  • Fellow “Type A’s” rejoice! I have outlined the basic milestones to help you plan ahead.

After you submit the contact form:

    1. SHARE: I’ll respond with answers to your questions and we’ll nail down a date/time. I’ll then send a link for you to easily share more information.

    2. REVIEW: Once we solidify the basic details, I’ll send an agreement for you to review. The session is confirmed once the agreement is signed and the deposit is paid.

    3. CHAT: I’ll touch base a few days before our session in case you have any last minute questions. If you would rather eat dirt than talk on the phone, I won’t force you, but I do want to make sure you feel good going into our session one way or another.

    4. SESSION DAY!

    5. DELIVER: Your high-resolution digital images will be delivered via an online gallery within 3 weeks of the session.

I’m always a phone call, email, or text away at any time. I’ll never leave you hanging.

  • 10/10 — what an awesomely thoughtful gift. After all, you can only have so many stroller blankets.

Purchasing a session on behalf of someone else (i.e., a gift certificate) is a great idea for an expecting mom or someone who is hard to shop for!

The same rates apply; the only differences are that the payment will be due upfront and the session must be held within the same calendar year.
