“OMG — that is so them!!”

This quick and easy portrait session showcases your kid’s personality, signature expressions, and distinguishing characteristics.

I don’t ask them to make certain faces — nothing is forced. But I engage with them to elicit authentic reactions/expressions.

Because the whole point is to capture your kid’s unique personality, I always recommend dressing them (or better yet, letting them dress themselves if they’re old enough — and if you’re brave enough) in clothes and accessories that they love.

I took photos of my son with an adorable buttoned shirt that I loved, but will never print or use them because he HATES buttoned shirts and it’s so not him. *Sigh*.

What to Expect

These brief portrait sessions are held at my home in Highland Park, IL. It’s usually 5-10 minutes per kid, depending on how quick they are to open up. I schedule them a little longer though so that we’re not rushed.

The photos are taken in front of a white screen using natural light.
