School Portraits

Looking for a School Photographer? Let’s Chat!

  • Pre-k schools (ages 1-5) with under 200 total students

  • Between December-April

  • Onsite, indoors, in front of a large window (using natural light)

  • School Portraits are a modified version of my Personality Portrait sessions. I try to get the kids to open up and show off their true colors and personalities. Many will, and some won’t — and that’s ok!

  • Having a 5 and 7 year old of my own, toddlers are my people. I understand and adore them!

    Meet & Greets

Because I’ll be a stranger to most of the kids, I always do a meet & greet with each class before picture day. I want them to see that I’m approachable, silly, and kind. This way, they’re excited — not intimidated on picture day.

I put in the extra time because I care deeply about the kid’s experience, and of course, the photos. The meet & greet goes a long way.

    No “Say cheese!”

I take pride in natural smiles through connection and humor. So, I don’t stick a stuffed animal on my camera or “say cheese!” and expect beaming smiles (no offense to others).

Instead, I do things like eat paper, let the kids spray me with water, pour noodles on my head, put lipstick on my face (intentionally outside my lips though) — just to name a few, but you get the gist.

I don’t take the easy way out and check the box with Chandler Bing-esque smiles. I do whatever I can to get natural smiles and authentic expressions.

  • Typically around 2 weeks

  • I offer digital and print options, and my rates are in line with other school photographers.

I’m open to doing class photos or composites.
